Leila's First Christmas, Part 2 (continued again)

Hopefully, you're not getting tired of seeing photos of Leila opening gifts (how could you?), but here are a couple more:

1. When we open presents at my parents', we collect the wrapping paper and ribbons into separate bags for recycling or reuse. Leila noticed one of the bags and the treasure trove of paper within and made a dive for it!
2. Here is her "haul" and the ensuing fun...
3. This is a fleecy winter outerwear suit that Leila received from her great-grandmother. We tried it on her to be sure it fit, and she just looked so darned cute that we had to take a picture!

And a couple non-Leila-centric photos (what a shock, eh?):

4. Matt, Leila and I went to lunch with some of my San Francisco Injury Center colleagues (clockwise from Matt- Lou, Peg and Diane). Not only did we get to introduce them to Leila and do some catching up, but we got to eat great Mexican food at the same time! ;-) Although we can get Tex-Mex food in Helsinki, we can't really get authentic Mexican (or not that we've found yet). The place we had lunch is El Metate in the Mission District, where Anna used to go regularly with people from work. It was one of the old standbys because of the excellent food at reasonable prices. Viva El Metate!

5. My sister Molly's birthday was during our stay, and we went out for sushi (one of her favorite foods) to celebrate. Instead of bringing her a traditional birthday cake for dessert, the chef made her a sushi "cake," complete with a candle! It looked impressive, and, according to Molly, it tasted great, too.
